What is a PIN?
The PIN (Personal Identification Number) is the key to your Tigo Pesa account and will be required to do any transaction on Tigo Pesa. It is important that you keep the PIN a secret and never share it with anyone. You will never be required to give up your PIN to an Agent, Tigo Personnel or anyone else.

What does a customer need to register?
In order to register for Tigo Pesa the customer must have a Mobile Phone, active Tigo SIM-card and a valid ID. The accepted IDs are: passport, voters ID, driving license, work ID or Local Government Letter.

How can a customer find out if he is registered or not?
An active Tigo Pesa subscriber will receive the full Tigo Pesa menu when they dial *150*01#. An inactive subscriber will get the Activate menu.

What is the Start Key and where do I get one?
The Start Key is a four digit code that is used when activating the Tigo Pesa account. The Start Key is given in the SMS that is sent to the Customer after registering. If the Start Key is lost the customer can call Tigo Pesa Call Center and request to be sent a new Start Key.

What if I do not receive the confirmation SMS after I have done a transaction?
Do not do the transaction again but wait. Most of the time you will receive the SMS within a minute but sometimes the message will be delayed or lost. If you are unsure if the transaction have taken place or not check your Mini Statement.
