At Tigo Tanzania, our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) objective is to empower every individual in advancing in life and find joy. We believe this ambitious but yet a bold goal will be realized through adoption of digital tools in every facet of life.

Over the years we have been investing company’s strongest assets to drive not only access to communication but also continuously building a strong societal ecosystem that brings the promise of technology to life in the communities where we operate. We have championed several initiatives ranging from bridging mobile phone ownership gap amongst women, improving connectivity to public schools by providing access to reliable internet and enhancing birth registration process by using mobile phone

Our Approach to Corporate Social Responsibility:

The strategic priorities for our social investment are focused on three thematic areas which are; Digital Inclusion, Education and Business Entrepreneurship. These themes demonstrate our ambition to empower every individual with digital technology while creating a shared value for our stakeholders who are customers, community, government, civil societies, media just to mention a few. Below is a brief explanation of what each theme mean to us;

Strategic priorities  What we mean by this in the long term
Digital inclusion providing access and encourage adoption and application of Information and Communication technology amongst individuals or groups as a tool for advancing in education, economic empowerment and social wellbeing.
Education Transform the lives of young students through connectivity and creating value through education. 
Business entrepreneurship Equip the youth with skills to build businesses while creating a forum to network, learn and share.
