A: There are 2 ways

  1. i) VIA USSD: Dial *150*01# to access Tigo Pesa Menu

Select 4 for “Pay Bills” on the Tigo Pesa Menu

Select 5 for “Government Payment

 Enter Payment Control Number (Provided to you by the Govt. Agency)

Enter amount

Enter your PIN to confirm

  1. ii) VIA Tigo Pesa Application : Open Tigo Pesa App

-Go to Malipo ya serikali icon

- Enter Control Number (Provided to you by the Govt. Agency)

-Enter Amount

-Enter your PIN to Confirm

A: A payment Control number is the Unique 12-digit number that is given as a payment reference number by the Government Agency that issued the bill.

A. Yes, the electronic confirmation message after payment is the same as receipt

A: NO. Government payment can be made anytime, anywhere as long as you have access to Tigo Pesa menu and enough balance for the required payment

A: You can only make payment to those institutions which are connected to the Government Electronic Payment Gateway (GePG).

A. Yes, your Tigo Pesa Information is well secured when paying Government. As per Tigo Pesa service guidelines, do not share your Tigo Pesa password with anyone.

A. As prescribed by the Tanzania Government, The Fixed service charge to customers is the equivalent of 1.1% of the amount to be paid to an Institution registered to GePG

Tigo only offers loans to selected customers who actively use  services like airtime, data, SMS, bill payments and Tigo Pesa transactions. You will get an SMS when you qualify. To qualify in future, use more Tigo services and Tigo Pesa transactions.
