The new Home Internet offered by Tigo allows you to enjoy using the Modem or Router with a completely new experience. Now you can control your Router and Modem straight from your mobile phone and enjoy 4G+ Home Internet by Tigo.

What makes this offer unique and first of its kind in Tanzania, is the experience where you can control your Modem or Router from your own Tigo mobile line:

  1. You don’t need to remove your SIM card from your Modem or Router to check your MBs balance or reload airtime or buy Internet.
  2. You don’t need to use your smartphone as Modem or Router anymore.
  3. You’ll be able to view and keep track of your data balance, buy packages with a very simple way through Tigo Pesa App or Internet Portal.

Tigo Home Internet Terms & Conditions

  • 1 Eligibility:
    • This service is open to Tigo prepaid subscribers who are connected to Home Internet service only
    • Packages can only be used by a registered Tigo SIM Card
  • 2Multiple subscriptions:

    Multiple subscriptions of more than one pack a day by a Customer is allowed.

  • 3 Buy for a friend:

    A Customer can buy any Home Internet pack for a friend at any point in time AND can buy more than one pack for a friend in a day except for Special offers under Saizi Yako menu

  • 4 Bundle/Pack sharing:

    Currently a Customer can not share the content of a purchased pack with a friend. To buy for a friend, a Customer needs to follow specific steps of gifting a new pack to a friend

  • 5 Payment options:

    There are two main payment options for a Customer to choose when buying a pack. 1. Main balance 2. Tigo Pesa. These options are provided based on the channel selected by a Customer for Example on USSD *147*00# and Tigo Website a Customer can opt to pay via Main balance option or Tigo Pesa option. While when Tigo Pesa App or Tigo Pesa menu via USSD *150*01# the payment option is only Tigo Pesa

  • 6 Pack Validity:

    Every Home Internet pack has a specified validity and the content of the purchased pack can only be used within the specified time which is always indicated at the time of purchase and in our menus.

  • 7 Pack content carry over:

    A Customer can not carry over any remaining content of the purchased pack after the pack is expired. Therefore a Customer is advised to use the pack content within the predefined validity of the pack. This is always indicated at the time of purchase and in our menus.

  • 8 How to connect to Home Internet Service:
    • To connect to this service a Customers needs to visit Tigo shops or Tigo Agent for Home Internet onboarding processes.
    • On boarding process requires a customer to have two simcards, one for his modem and second for his/her mobile phone service. The mobile number is used for buying the Home internet packages, for checking Home internet balance and receive Home Internet related SMS communications
    • The onboarded Home internet phone number will be able to subscribe and use Home internet packages only
    • if a customer would want to change onboarded Home Internet number or stop the service, it is adviced to visit any Tigo shop or contact our Customer care line 100.
  • 9 Channels to buy Home Internet packs:

    Dial *147*00# → Select Validity → Select Home Internet → Select a pack → Choose payment option → the Customer receive a confirmation of the purchase done or
    Buy from our Website (www.tigowebsite.co.tz) or
    from our Tigo Pesa App , or Tigopesa USSD *150*01# or
    Buy from our POS Channels or

  • 10 How To check balance for Home Internet pack:
    • Through Tigo Pesa App, the customer can be able to check the balance of the purchased pack
    • Via our Tigo internet portal i.e on www.internet.tigo.co.tz
  • 11 Use of Home Internet content for Internet services:

    The content provided on Home internet packs is applicable for all Internet services.

    • All Home Internet packages except Standard week content provided devided for All time and Night only
    • Night content is used from 00:00 - 05:59am
    • Home Internet Month packages includes minutes which can only be used by customers with Routers (CPE) connected to cordless phones
  • 12 Use of Home Internet content for Roaming and International calls and SMS:

    The content provided on Home Internet packs is only enabled for use within the country no for Roaming services and Internatinal services.

  • 13 Change number or Stop using Home Internet Service:

    If a customer would want to change onboarded Home Internet number or stop the service, it is adviced to visit any Tigo shop or contact our Customer care line 100.

  • 14 Use of other services:

    A Customer is not restricted to use or buy other services while subscribed to the SMS packs.

  What is Tigo Home Internet?

The new Home Internet offer by Tigo will allow you to enjoy using the router/modem with a completely new experience. Now you can control your Router and Modem straight from your mobile phone and enjoy 4G+ Home Internet by Tigo.

  Why is it different from every Home internet in the market?

With Tigo Home internet:

  1. No need to remove your SIM card from your router/modem to check your MB balance, or reload airtime or buy Internet
  2. No need to use your smartphone as router/modem anymore, because you will be able to have a full control of your router/modem from your own Mobile Tigo line
  3. You will be able to view and keep track of your data balance, buy packages with a very simple way through Tigo Pesa App
  What do I need to join Tigo Home Internet?

You need to have the following:

  1. Tigo SIM card on your mobile phone
  2. You would require another Tigo SIM Card for your Tigo Home Internet device.
  3. Tigo Home Internet device (Modem/Router)
  4. Active Tigo Pesa account
  5. Download Tigo Pesa App
  What are the criteria for eligibility?

- All Tigo prepaid Customers are eligible to buy Home Internet packs
- Packages can only be used by a registered Tigo SIM Card

  Can I do multiple subscriptions?

Yes, multiple subscriptions of more than one pack a day by a Customer is allowed.

  Can I buy for friend?

  What the FREE Home Internet Welcome Packages?

There are two kinds of Welcome Packages

1. During onboarding process

2. When you buy new Home Internet device (Modem/Router) from Tigo

  Do these welcome packages differ in any way?

Yes,

1. The welcome pack varies depending on the type of device the customer is purchasing

2. If customer purchase Modem (Mi-Fi), Tigo gives 40GB of Data with 30days validity(20GB all day, 20GB night - from 00:00 to 05:59AM)

3. If customer purchase Router  (CPE), Tigo gives 100GB of Data with 30days validity (50GB all day, 50GB night - from 00:00 to 05:59AM)

4. Router (CPE) customers receives additional of 300 all-net minutes valid for 30days.

  Are the any charges for Home Internet welcome Packages?

No, the welcome packages are FREE and are provisioned to Home Internet new customers only

  Can I transfer balance from my Home Internet Welcome pack to someone else?

No, a Customer can not transfer balance from the Home Internet welcome pack

  Can use the Bonus Minutes for making calls?

Yes, the bonus minutes can be used if customer connects the cordless phone to the router (CPE) for on-net and off-net calls
